Consumables

The InQ Cell Research System’s cell culture incubator uses a set of disposable cassettes, cartridges, and cylinders for simplicity, ease of use, sterility, and experimental control. Each system utilizes the following components:

Growth Cassette

The growth cassette directs the flow of growth media and gas while housing and protecting the cells and maintaining sterility. The optically clear, phthalate-free plastic cassette has dual independent cell growth chambers (13 cm2 surface area each) that permit on-the-fly sample insertion and extraction. The sealed, sterile unit eliminates the possibility of human or airborne contamination associated with a traditional cell culture incubator. The cassette has an electronic ID for easy sample tracking and accepts proteins, matrices, and other custom coatings.

Growth Media Cartridge

Two disposable growth media cartridges provide a custom blend of growth media. The media are mixed to a user-defined ratio that can be altered throughout the experiment. They plug into easy-access media ports for the addition of supplements. The cartridge comes with an electronic ID for easy tracking and user-programmable media.

Collection Cartridge

Two spent media collection cartridges are available (interchangeable with growth media cartridges) to collect the spent media either for disposal or further analysis. The cartridges allow for sterile sample collection and easy clean up.

Gas Cylinder

The InQ Research System can accept up to four disposable gas cylinders that can contain nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, air, or argon. Other less common gases and custom gas blends are also available. Gases are mixed and pressurized based on user-defined criteria. Each cylinder has its own electronic ID enabling preprogrammed control data and user information.
